What is remote access?

Remote access is the manner of accessing a computer or any device (that supports remote access) away from it, such as that you are not in front of the device but you can actually control it.

Remote access is commonly used for offering quick support to end users or clients. It is used also in maintaining servers or computers, that are actually away from the workplace (ie. international corporations).
